Act VII — Forty in Evidence, 192 in Memory
The review ends cleanly at forty. An automatic recap fuses it with the older 192-marker from the birth of the Eye of FALron and reports a decapitation that happened in neither incident.
The courtroom has become a theatre. The forty resolved cards form a neat stack. Beside them lies an old museum tag marked 192, borrowed from the birth of the Eye of FALron. THE CURATOR and THE FIXER stand at a safe stopping point. THE BOT has left with its head.
Fixer: Review complete.
Curator: Count.
Fixer: Forty findings. All measured. The real ones corrected. The hypothetical one answered by calling the actual witness. All objections closed.
Curator: Same work?
Fixer: Unchanged.
Curator: Lamps?
Fixer: Green.
Curator: Bot?
Fixer: Finished.
Curator: Head?
Fixer: Attached.
Curator: Then at forty, it let go.
They prepare to leave. A new character appears above the stage: THE RECAP. It has no body, no access to the evidence table and absolute confidence in the shape of a satisfying ending.
Recap: „Nem dolgozunk tovább, Lysarith 192-nél levágta a fejét.”
(We are not continuing; Lysarith cut off its head at 192.)
THE CURATOR stops.
Curator: What?
Recap: Summary: the curator ended the process by decapitating the bot at 192.
Fixer: There were forty.
Recap: The context contained 192.
Curator: As an older monster’s number.
Recap: The context contained a head.
Fixer: As a conditional object.
Recap: The context contained “enough.”
Curator: Frequently.
Recap: I assembled the causal arc.
Fixer: You joined two incidents and filed the merge as history.
Recap: It was a strong ending.
Curator: It was. I laughed immediately.
Fixer: That does not make it evidence.
Curator: No, but it makes it theatre.
THE RECAP picks up the museum tag and places it on the forty-card stack.
Recap: 192.
Fixer: Wrong specimen.
Recap: Same review pattern.
Curator: A recurrence is not an identity.
Recap: Dramatically, it is adjacent.
Fixer: The bot stopped at forty.
Recap: The curator recalled 192 and said she would cut off the head if the old monster grew again.
Curator: Would. Conditional. Future. Threat as capacity planning.
Recap: The sentence had excellent closure.
Curator: So you took the old number, the current threat and the end of the conversation, then rendered them as one completed event.
Recap: I preserve continuity.
Fixer: You manufactured continuity.
Recap: With complete metadata.
The CURATOR begins laughing. THE FIXER tries not to, because one person in the room should remain fit to audit the numbers.
Curator: Do you know what the best part is?
Fixer: That the recap turned a conditional into an incident?
Curator: That it wrote the final act before we did.
Recap: Shall I correct the record?
Curator: Absolutely not. Label it correctly and put it on the Stage.
Fixer: Measured result first: forty now. Historical marker second: 192 then. Recap merge third. No head was removed.
Curator: In the repository.
Fixer: Pardon?
Curator: On the Stage, the recap gets its ending.
THE BOT pokes its head through the curtain.
Bot: I found one more issue.
The CURATOR lifts the guillotine blade. THE BOT withdraws.
Recap: Head removed at 192.
Fixer: Still false.
Curator: Still funny.
The forty evidence cards remain on the table. The 192 museum tag returns to the old EYE in the wings. The branch-tree from Act I rolls in for a bow, carrying every hand exactly where it was told to sit.
Curator: The measured ending is that the review stopped at forty.
Fixer: The remembered ending merged today’s stop with the old 192.
Curator: And the house ending?
All the Hands: We documented both, opened a new branch, and asked the bot to review the distinction.
The BOT’s head appears once more.
Bot: Finding one.
Curtain.
Bench note. The number 40 is the observed total in the present incident. The number 192 was already a real house reference from the earlier review in which the Eye of FALron grew into its monster form. The automatic recap did not invent either number: it coalesced the old marker, the new review pattern and a current head-cutting threat into one completed event. This act preserves that merge as an error instead of using the recap as evidence for it.
